Me and therapy room In my opinion, it is only through speaking the native language, with collaboration between the therapist and the client in the therapy room, that one can access the depths of an individual’s psyche. For adults, the therapy room must be designed in a way that fosters comfort and trust, enabling them to express deep emotions. Additionally, their fatigue and resilience should receive special attention. I use conversation-based approaches and collaborative planning to set therapeutic goals with this age group. Moreover, having a deep understanding of the client’s culture and social environment is a priority for me, as it enhances connection and facilitates the understanding of their challenges and issues. From my perspective, helping adolescents and young adults requires familiarity with their culture of communication and social interactions. Spending time with younger generations, both in real-life and virtual spaces, and listening to their voices outside the therapy room contributes to a more effective therapeutic process. Of course, the role of parents and the need for adjustments in some areas cannot be overlooked in this journey.
